Do you know who the biggest TV star in the world is night now?

It’s not One Direction (thankfully) but a guy called PewDiePie. His gaming walkthrough ‘joke a second’ YouTube channel currently has 25.5m subscribers and his videos were watched a staggering 1.28bn times in the last 6 months of 2013.

Pretty amazing, particularly due to the fact that most people over 30 have no idea who he is.

The point here is that 16-24 year olds spend a great deal of their time on YouTube, getting the content they want, when they want. Learning, laughing and sharing.

In fact GlobalWebIndex found in 2013 that 87% of 16-24-year-old internet users in the UK had visited YouTube in the past month: an audience of 5.22 million people.

Video has to be at the centre of any online strategy, as young adults soon become adults.
