The renovation has included a number of the latest elements to maximise insulation and energy efficiency and the lodge is essentially warmed by an efficient heating system, enhanced by a wood-burning stove in the sitting room and double glazing throughout.

French doors lead outside to a paved terrace overlooking the River Eden and valley beyond, together with an enclosed lawn and garden.
